Depends on what you mean by "not too many modifications." Anything but another D282 will require several major parts, including front and rear engine plates for sure, possibly frame rails, possibly radiator, and lots of other little nickle-and-dime things that you either need to replace or jury-rig to get it working. You could install a C263, C291, or C301 gasser. A D360 will fit with the right parts, but the front plate will either need to come off a 686's D312, or you will need to have a 766/886 front plate machined down, and you'll need to drill new holes in the frame. The rear plate will also come off a 766 or 886, and will stick out around the bell housing by an inch or so.
