Gary: Just proves what a cop once told me, "no one reads anymore, I'm going to let you off, Mr. MacKay." He had clocked me doing 58 in a 50 zone. This section road had been the old main highway between Halifax and Truro NS. When they opened the new 4 lane, the old highway got down graded from 60 to 50 mph. It had been my first time on it since the down grade, and indeed I turned on about the middle. I pointed that out to him and the fact there was no speed sign between here and where I turned on. He said, "Oh yes there is, back by the park." I informed him the sign by the park said, "It is unlawful to dump garbage on the highway, $100. fine." With that he backed off big time, said, " your right." I bet you liked running across guys like me, during your days in Michigan. A month later a neighbor tried the same approach, problem was he was doing 68 mph. Must have been the same cop, as he asked him if he knew me. "MacKay didn't tell you it had to be under 60 to get away with it."

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
