There should be a plug on the top of the transmission housing, at least that's where it is on the 460. Unless you have a serious problem, replacing the filter will stop most of the whine. It is behind a plate at the lower right side of the transmission. You have to drain the system first. Not a bad idea because it is probably half water due to lack of maintenance. Use HyTran or a fluid that meets HyTran specs. There is some controversy whether it must be CaseIH, but on that old tractor, I doubt if it makes any difference as long as it meets the specs. Someone else can give you the capacity, I don't have that handy.
