We broke the key off of our 766 when it was almost new. As it turned out, the switch had a sort of plastic middle, and the key broke off inside, leaving two little plastic ears. A penny fit it perfectly, and with the key broke off inside, you just place the penny in the slot and turned it on. Kept a penny on the dash for 21 years, and sold it with the penny still on the dash.
