Jim, 1/2 MPH is barely moving. We can set 10 acres a day with a 2 row. I run it on the 666 in 1st gear DD at 1800 rpms. However my boy's have a lot of experiance riding this thing. They are like all other young farm boy's around here. They learn to do this at 5 or 6 years old. We used the Super C and 230 until 1981 when we finally got a 2 row model with dads 484. I remember in 1979 we were setting with the 230 and the governor went south. Dad tied a string to the governor linkage ran it through the fan shroud and kept the tractor slowed down enough we could finish setting tobacco that year.
