Did you check the depth of the flywheel from the PP mount flange to the friction surface. this must be within .010" of spec. Did you check the disk for out of round, or runout, by putting it on the trans shaft, and spinning it to check?? The finger adjustment is most important that it be even in depth from a commom point. not in terms of a specific height. they need to be within .005" of the same installed height, when in place with the bolts tight. Ive been thinking on your issue, and things don't seem correct with some component in that assembly. Idon't rule out pivot point slop in the pedal, or linkage greif, but that change in the finger height from stopped to high idle bothers me. Is there adifference between the old and new PP? trying to help, JimN
