international 544 utility brake question

ok here is my question for today, I have a 544 utility, that needs brake adjustment, I cant find my book, I think I recall seeing that to adjust the brakes I need to remove some shims that are loacted in the round pack on the side of the rear end?? can this be confirmed,, and if that is true how many would you remove it appears to have like 10 in there,,thanks pat
