450 Fan Shroud Color - Guy Fay

Attempting a near-perfect restoration and keep uncovering evidence that the radiator fan shroud was originally satin black. Did they not paint the shrouds (?and radiators?) red on the assembly line? I have Guy Fay"s book on the numbered series Farmalls, but (from memory at the moment) I don"t recall any mention of the fan shroud being black. Also, what color should the cap/lid be painted on the optional air intake pre-cleaner with the 6" plastic dust bowl? Mine was painted white by the previous owner, but I"ve seen silver, cream, and red. Thanks. Bob
