I'm selling a vintage Maytag lawnmower, branded by the Monitor Co., that is original and running condition. A very interesting ~1946 machine that is powered by a twin-cylinder engine. Before I throw it up on a certain aution site (where I've seen a few that don't actually run), I'd like to drift it by the helpful tractor gang (that's you) that may have an interest in Maytag collectibles. I took it one small engine/tractor show and most Maytag guys never saw one like it before. "Ah. The infamous Maytag lawnmower. Said to be a nightmare to operate, as one stone would cause the blade to explode, lopping off the operator’s feet at the ankles. Hitting an obstruction also tended to break the delicate, hollow crankshaft, so this surviving example is quite rare!" If you are interested, please contact me at ken@superfetch.com, for photos/details. Thank you, Ken/Buffalo, NY
