We had a 706 diesel IH engine for several years. The torque was very good in ours and the only IH tractor of three with torque we owned that was good. The only things we didn't like was hard to start in cold weather (glow plugs) and it was a little hard to shift. Other wise good tractor and very dependable. good luck
