I assume you are refering to the 2 row row crop cultivator for a C. It fits the red/blue/black scheme I mentioned before. On the front, the universal mounting frames and the frame they clamp onto are red. The cultivator frames, made mostly of square bar stock, are blue. Most everything from there down would be black, except for blue shields. On the rear, axle clamps (not really part of the cultivator) and the stationary frame that bolts to it were red. All the lift rods were probably red. The cultivator frames were blue although I am not sure exactly where the transition from red to blue was. Standards, shanks, spring teeth or whatever were black. The shovels, teeth etc. were probably all varnished. I use the word probably here quite a bit. The factory had approved painting standards but they seemed to change from time to time and it also appears that the standards weren't always followed. There seem to be a lot of never repainted units out there that don't follow the rules. These seem to be particularly common in the '47-'48 time period when they started using a lot of blue on the cultivators. By the way, I use spray wax on the originally varnished parts. It prevents rust but comes off as soon as it is in the ground. If the plow is a C mounted plow, the beam and most anything bolted directly to it was probably blue. The mounting frames etc. were red. The working face of the bottom was varnished. If it is a trailer plow, I can't help. I have heard various descriptions of that paint scheme, and it varied with time.
