Make sure all the linkages travel full stop to stop. Mine had an issue with power, but would idle. I took the pump apart and cleaned out varnished up old diesel that was about like the finish on a straight backed farm chair that still had the original finish+ 80 years of hand oil and stickie kids fingers.
