Nope. That's a casting number. Look for a number stamped on a flat pad at the right top of the engine block behind the mag or distributor. That number, with its FCM prefix, is roughly the same as the tractor's serial number (if motor was never swapped). You can also look at date codes on the major castings. Look for a series of letters and numbers like "12-31-F". A equals 1931. V was skipped, so W = 1951. The link below will take you to a page with links to a s/n reference web site.
