I believe (maybe incorrectly) that the 6-23-M is a date casting, decoded as month-day-yearcode. The yearcode starts at 1930, I think, and continues sequentially after that, possibly skipping I and O. This may give you a year of production and possibly a modle which they may fit. I hope this is of some help.
