IH would paint tractors almost any color for Government or other large quantity buyers. Your 300U may have been yellow from the factory, painted yellow by the dealer or by the end user.
Is yellow the last color before primer or bare metal? Of course who knows what has happened to your tractor in the 30+ years since it rolled off the assembly line. Phil
