touch control unit---

I took the gas tank off my SA to remove the rockshaft, low and behold under the tank on top of the touch control unit there was a grease fitting. Why I'll never tell you! The parts catalog doesn't even show a hole there, Im supposing someone put it there because they lost the original bolt. But what is it there for in the first place? It was ribbing against the bottom of the tank and would eventually wear a hole thru the tank.
