Greg, I've just noticed your messages. I too am an Aussie and have been collecting IH tractors for a number of years. The AM was produced at Geelong at the same time as the AW6 conventional. Both shared the 248 motor which was bored to 264 when the Supers were released in about 1953,becoming Super AM,SAW6 and a Diesel version SAWD6. The Australian Diesels went the way of the English made IH and used a Glowplug starting system.X3A should mean slow gears and 1595 is Max. idle RPM.Hope this is some help and look forward to hearing from you.Hope it is of some interest to you too Harvey.(Don't call Sunday night, like all good Aussies I'll be watching the Cricket World Cup final.)
