Greg been there done that. Once you get the brake band lever arm and keyway off, use penetrating oil and work the cover off the stuck brake. Once its off then you will need to use more penetrating oil and man handle the brake band assembly out of the frame hole. Once you have it out, use a grinding wheel and smooth down the brake band lever so it works freely in the transmission frame. Good luck!
