Rick is correct the cub PTO does turn in the opposite direction as standard PTO's. When my cub had this problem I found that my brake bands were history and one of the drums had worked loose and was turning in the axle. I put new bands on and now my '64 lo-boy with a 60" Pennington deck stops on a dime with the PTO engaged.
