What are these bolts for on a Farmall B, Super A, and maybe others

To the left of the driver, on top of the transmission, a few inches behind the gear shift, are a couple of bolts (5/8", I think). They're about four inches apart, are square headed, and the casting is a little elevated where the bolt holes are.
They are obviously designed to mount something, but what?
