The correct oil for your 300 engine is Case-IH Low-Ash oil. Use 30 W in the summer, 10W in the winter. There was a big discussion here a couple weeks ago on which oils to use/not use in these old Farmall/IH gas engines. I agree with Bermuda Ken Updike that Low-Ash oil is the best for these old girls.
