A little additional information; The drop housings on the Farmall High Clearance tractors contained a chain drive. However not all of the Farmall High Clear tractors seen in tractor shows are true factory built high clear tractors. A Farmall M through Farmall 560 series tractor could be made high clear by installing the flange type cotton picker rear axle housings and cotton picker bull gears. It is then necessary to install a reversable transmission top from a low drum cotton picker tractor to reverse the differential. The tractor then looks just like a true factory made high clear except that you will see two mounting holes for the gearshift and the reversed gearshift is on the oposite side from normal. Some of these tractors are seen with a modified high clear wide front axle and some have the single 20" cotton picker front wheel. Our dealership converted a number of these. They were often used for high clearance sprayers. Harold H
