Seems like you are not getting much of an indication of what may be wrong with it dying an immediately restarting. Does it lose power or behave as if the ignition was just cut off? Any popping/backfiring etc. Usually there is a least a short cooling down required if it is an electrical component. It may be the condenser but I tend to think something is looose/shorting inside the distributor associated with the points or the rotor button is cracked or carboned thus shorting to the shaft it is mounted on. Look at the lead wires mounted to the coil/distributor/switch and pull on them. The wires could be broken inside and the insulation is all that is holding the wire together giving the false appearance that the wires are O K.
