My recommendation is to operate everything possible. The steering should operate easily without any play. Make sure the PTO (or PTO's) operate. Lift and lower the 3 point hitch. The pump that operates the 3 point hitch also operates auxiliary hydraulics, so if the 3 point hitch works, you have a good chance of making a loader work on the tractor. The brakes are easy to rebuild, but give them a try to see how good they are. Good brakes on a 706 should lock up a wheel with no problem. Look for oil or coolant leaks under the tractor (Ask to see where the tractor has been sitting before you got there).
