Hi see this post about remotes on 674, same frame as 454. Surprised 454 didn't have at least one remote. http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=farmall&th=705443
I have seen under slung exhausts on 454 but according to caseih parts for D-179 engine, the exhaust manifold is different: Vertical 3136069R12 MANIFOLD MANIFOLD W/FOUR STUDS, exhaust, Underslung 3055124R12 MANIFOLD ASSY MANIFOLD W/TWO STUDS, exhaust. I believe the problem with turning the vertical one up side down is the outlet comes out the center and that is probably going to collide with the oil filter where as the under slung opening is at the rear of engine.
