SMTA Rims - Dumb Question??

I hope that this isn't too dumb of a question but...
Did they make/offer different sized rims for the SMTA? Every one that I was ever around either had 13.6X38's or had the rims split & widened to accomodate a 15.5. Now I've bought one that has the correct rims on it and has 15.5's on it. The rims have not been modified and the tires fit just right. I haven't picked up the tractor yet and didn't have a chance to measure the rims. What's the deal?
So... did it turn out to be a dumb question?? Thanks to all.
