When I installed an inline fuel filter in my 100 for the same reason, it clogged and had to be replaced quite a few times before the tank finally cleaned up. I was only getting 15-30 minutes of operation at first before having to change it. Alos, check the condition of the screen in the sediment bowl. Mine was messed up and letting stuff go by. Replacing it helped a lot.
