Bob: If you were a full time farmer back when these were newer, you may not like sitting on smaller wheels bouncing around more and lower to the dust and dirt that blows up from the equipment so an M would be better.. An M would have been a better choice with a mounted two row picker for the same ground clearance reasons. More weight and better traction from larger diamater wheels was a known fact. The M was built for full time "Row Crop" type farming in tall corn. There probably was more acres of corn that went under Farmall H & M's than any WD or WD45 and row crop farming is\was the reason.. Maybe not which is best for cutting a lawn now for a hobby person but rather why these were built back 50+ years ago should be the real test of which was better suited to do what was needed back then...and Farmalls out sold WD's..
