First check that all the linkage is still hooked up. Next stand on the carb side, reach back and move throttle lever, link to carb should move. By the way don"t start the tractor, If it revs real high it will throw a rod. If this checks out you may have a broken throttle shaft, don't believe me? Ours on the 544 broke last year moving hogs. When I got to the stop sign I cycled the ingiten on and off to slow down.. Then I had to use the (groan) jd3155 with cab, Used only for this job Nov/Mar, oh well least I didn't have to walk them the mile to the finnishing house..However I havn't used a Cub so it could be some thing paritucular to this tractor.
