Farmall M, OK, I'm confused.

We have two M's, the first one Serial No. 2018 and the second is No. 5431. Simple so far, 150 Years of IHC tells me they're both 1939 models. Now the plot thickens. On checking the casting date codes on the Exhaust Manifold, Transmission Housing and Rear Housing Cover on both M's, the older one has all date codes ending with an A and the latter ones date codes end with a B. Guy Fays's "Originality Guide" states A is 1955 and B is 1956. The other options are 1931 and 1932. Hardly an option. Any clues from somebody who knows. Regards, Redfan.
