Not to jump in the middle of what someone is talking to you about, but with a one wire alt. you should not need a transistor. None of my tractors have them. Your positive post on the Alt. should be hooked directly to 12 volts of current ALL the time. Your m should not diesel with a one wire alt. Now, It will run after ignition switch is turned off if alt is wired to cold side. Remove wire and install on other side of switch, which will be 12 volts constant. Questions I'll e-mail a schematic
