There would be nothing sweeter than for you to find that tractor that has a special attachment to your family. My uncle sold out in 1959 and I came across the auctioneer's record of the sale some time ago...it listed every item, how much it brought and the name of the successful bidder. Is there a chance that your family has a record of the farm sale?.. Try some ads in the local papers in the area of your grandfathers farm..chances are that tractor did not go too many miles from home in 1957.You'd be surprised at how many locals still remember that family name, or being at the sale, or growing up in the area...someone will know where that tractor went. Next try tractor clubs in the area, if someone restored it they may have a history of where the tractor came from. Tractor wreckers will have records of where a tractor came from and when, even from whom. Lastly I'd take a trip to grandads old farm and see what neighbours are still in the area that remember him, they may know where the tractor went or where one is parked in the hedgerow rusting away and hopefully its the one you want...I have my dad's 1939 M and it has special meaning for me, I can still see him on it like I did so many hundreds of times before... I hope you find your Grandads tractor ....Mike in Exeter Ontario

"Run in the house and get me a...."as I open th
