I think that maybe you are right about the cam gear. I have noticed in the past before the engine quit running that when you operated the hitch the engine smoothed right out. I was told this was caused by the hydraulic strainer being clogged. I pulled the strainer off and it was clogged. I cleaned it but the same thing happened. Maybe the cam gear is loose and when put a load on the hydraulic pump it moves the gear to a different position. Thanks to all for the ideas!
