I would have to agree with F14 on this one, unless you can warm them up to full operating temperature and drive them around a little bit, don't bother starting them. IF you start an engine and don't warm it up really good condensation occurs in the crankcase. This means water in the oil, and water in the oil turns to acid and eats main and rod bearings.

If they are going to sit for more than a month I would put a couple tablespoons of 2 cycle oil down the spark plug holes to keep everything lubricated for easier starting in the spring. I use 2 cycle oil because it burns off easier when you start the tractor.
