1066 international

I am looking at a 1066. The dealer tells me it is a 1972. I drove it and the motor seems to be very good shape. It showed no smoke while idling and I didn't see any oil leaks any where on the tractor. I didn't try the torque and wasn't able to try the hydraulic remotes. The 3 point hydraulic works well. The only thing I saw that didn't work was the fuel gauge and temp gauge and also the amp gauge. The batteries were completely drained and I was wondering if that would have something to do with it. Also is there anything else I should check for. Any help would be appreciated. This tractor looks like a beauty.
