Doug's right, it's cabaged together from what looks like a '41 A rear end (which matches your serial number); '49 C or SA torque tube and touch control assy; and a '54 SC, SA, or poss SA-1 engine. It should be set up for the larger sleeves (3 1/8"), I think the block number behind the oil filter will probably be a 354898. The earlier motor was 251079 (? not sure on last 3 digits from memory), which had the 3" pistons and smaller sleeves. The current 3 1/8" pistons you reference aren't a dead give away. That could be standard pistons in the block referenced above, or just an overbore sleeve/piston kit in an earlier motor. The overbore kit in a later motor will get you 3 1/4".
This kind of job gives you a choice of some other parts too. Measure the length of the hood. Don't remember the measurements off-hand but the C/SC hood is an inch or so longer than the A/SA. The longer hood would say they used the C upper water neck and radiator. Also check the grill. If the distance from the bottom bar in the grill to the lower seam is more than 1/2 or 3/4" (maybe 1 1/2"), than they used the taller SC/SA-1 radiator and sheet metal. With that combo the fuel tank sits over an inch above the touch control instead of 1/2" like the C and SA. It might or might not have a water pump in place of the lower radiator neck.
Kind of reminds you of Johnny Cash's 46, 47, 48, 49 ... Cadilac;)
