How tough are W30,2236,1530,W40 transmissionsrearends??

I have heard that in the history of tractor pulling that there has never been a w30 rear end go out and that they can take very high horsepower is this true? How tough are they I know that all of the models I mentioned have the same basic transmission and rear end. Are they tougher than the model Ms W6s and W9s?
