Buck is absolutely right, let the paint burn off and cut you pipe where the line between burned and unburned paint is. This is called "scavenging" and it is the ultimate point where back pressure and free flow work together. Scavenger pipe have been used for years by hot rodders designing the ultimate tuned exhaust system..in this case the I-H muffler beat them to it but figuring out where your pipe will scavenge is not hard to do and this is far more productive than guessing what length of pipe to use...you can have horse power, and the gutsy sound if you want. My guess is scavenging will occur between 3 and 4 feet, but I haven't tried it on a tractor..you can tell by the heat mark on a new piece of pipe....Good luck Farmallers from Mike in Exeter Ontario
