We have a 140 that has alot of play in the steering. The only problem it really creates is if you gotta run it down the road in 4th gear, it will get to swerving and everything else. We rarely go anywhere w/it anymore, mainly if we do we trailer it unless it is real close by. Other than that, it gives me a little workout cutting grass in 2nd gear, but nothing that is too bad. I think you are gonna be hard pressed to find one w/out play in the steering, and if not, you are gonna pay for it. I would get that one you are speaking of, and if it becomes a problem fix it/have it fixed. Like I say, if you find one that has already been repaired, you are gonna pay a higher price for it.
