Farmall If the serial number plate hasn't been physically destroyed (severly gouged, torn, etc) there are methods to 'bring back' worn or ground serial numbers in metal. It involves using a combination of fluids. Auto theft investigators and crime scene techs use it all the time to restore serial numbers on VIN plates and firearms when the numbers have been ground off. I've done it several times but its been many years ago. I'm trying to find out the name of the solutions (Erhlichs reagent and Prussian Blue..I think) anyway you could call your local cop shop or State LE agency and ask for the info and try to restore the plate. Its pretty amazing to see it actually work. Hope this helps
