There is a lot of things that can affect the cost of a tractor. One of the big ones is the tires. For a decent running M as you described I would expect to pay between 750 to 1200 depending on a lot of little things and location (I'm in SE Ohio). Diesel would add or subtract from that. A poor running diesel will cost more to repair. A good running diesel is a little more desirable tractor than the gas to some people (me included). But the real factor, and the end to this long winded reply, is the dollar to grin factor. If the grin you get from the tractor is worth more than the $1,500 in your pocket it's a good deal.
