When I was a kid plowing with a straight M behind my Dad on a Super M, the old M just wouldn't keep up. We overhauled it with a firecrater super kit IH called it. The kit was 4" firecrater piston and sleeves. The firecrater pistons raised the compression a little. Anyway It did make a big difference. It still did't have the power that the Super M did but I would take the lead plowing because the 4th in the M was a little faster than the 3rd in the Super M. To put the 4.125 piston and sleeve set in a plan M you would have to bore the block. To get the same HP out of your M as a 450 naturally you would have to have the same head, Cam, intake/exhaust and carberator. I have a Super M that I have the 4.125 high altitude firecrater pistons in and it dynos at 61 HP. It will actually out pull my 450.

I’m par
