There are some reasons the H and the Super C coexisted in production. Many of the larger farmers were thirteen years into farming with H's and M's when the Super C was introduced. It was easier to buy another H or M and use your existing equipment than to have to buy everything. Ford had a healthy market share with the small farmer who needed one tractor to do many things. The super C was probably targeted directly at the Ford and Ferguson customer. It is my feeling that the H was more of a commercial design intended for longterm hard use and the Super C was designed to be a broad answer to a new market. The Super C wins when it comes to agility, but a little brawn was needed to carry a mounted cotton or corn picker season after season. Ford Chevy and Dodge have all taken the staggered approach to introducing new styling and technology to their truck lines. We see the new bodysyles in the 1/2 tons first then later in the 3/4 and 1 tons. We now see totally different styles being maintained for the lightduty and heavyduty pickups.
