Freddie what kind of tractor are you talking about...M's and H's have a rod that follows the contour of the right side of the tractor begining with a crank on the tank mount just below the ignition switch. The rod runs along the contour of the tractor and appears to be very straight, it ends at the distributor housing where it connects to a flat lever on the distributor housing, I'd have to check but it either 3\8 or 5\16 rod, one can make all this if need be. It swivels on the distributor housing and the lower swivel attaches to the flat bar which goes through the rad to the shutters themselves. In my Blue Ribbon Service Manual the W4 has the same configuration of shutter rod....good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
