Date casting codes on M.

Can anyone please explain why all the casting codes on a Farmall M have a B for the year of casting. Some listed below.
Manifold 20-2-B
Block 6-5-B
Trans. Housing 11-10-B
Trans. Top. 3-11-B
In my Book B means either 1932 or 1956. That's not feasible.Any chance Export tractors may have used a different code. Again, highly unlikely.
All my other USA built tractors follow the correct date code. Serial No. is M BFK 5431 X3A.
P.S. Does anybody know of a contact who could supply Serial No. information for Australian built IHC tractors. Regards, Redfan.
