An O-ring leak has nothing to do with fluid running down the side of the block. You can't see an O-ring leak from the outside. If the O-rings leak it will show up as water in the oil. I agree with Steve450, I think you most likely have a blown head gasket. Probably from the engine overheating. Either way you will need to take the engine apart.
