I have a 240 utility that went through this too. If I remember you said that it was made a sqealing noise and now wont move. Inside of this system you have these basic parts: the pump, the control valve(hydra touch control), the resevoir and the safety relief valve. Your problem most likely is in the safety relief valve. but first check your engine oil and see if it is high, if it is your hyd pump blew out the seal. now remove the relief valve (its the one next to the control valve and it has no control lever or anything) take off the endcap with the 4 bolts, it has a spring in it so take it off slowly it wont fly off but just watch it, then look in it, pull out the spring and the plunger underneath it with your finger, then use needle nose pliers to pull out the piston under that. lay this out how it came out on a towel, use emory cloth of another VERY VERY fine abrasive to make sure the plunger and piston are free of burrs and do the same with their bores. now onto the other side, use pliers to grip the small round uplifted part to pull that piston out, clean that bore the same as the other one, remove the o-ring from the piston and smooth the piston too, replace the o-ring with a NEW one, then clean the whole unit very clean in diesel or similar, it has to be clean or it will stick again, then put it all back together and let the cap off the resevoir while it is running, add oil, cycle the hitch cylinder and so on. The reason it sqealed was the tremendous pressure in the pump now the reason it wont work it because the pressure forced the valve open and it wont close (its stuck) if all of this doesnt work try it again, i did it 2 or 3 times but it was well worth it and it frees up some horsepower also, if you need any more help you can email me since i have almost become an expert on that tractor and i have the parts book diagrams that i can email you if you would like, all you have to do it ask. good luck!!!
