The combustion chamber in the cylinder head and the design of the piston was changed after the 560. It is much more effecient.

If you are looking for more power, it is very simple to remove the sleeves and bore the block to a STD C301 bore. These pistons are still available from IH and are fairly reasonable. Only drawback is that it will use a lot of gas.
