My father had a 656 Hydro. We used to break a hydraulic tube about once a year. They are rather small tubes that run from under the gas tank back to the (equivalent of) the clutch. Depending on which one broke, it lost one direction. We finally padded the line, and kept spare tubes. If you have this problem, you should be able to see a leak. Be careful -- these are extremely high pressure lines. We liked the tractor, especially for pto tools and anything with a lot of back-and forth, like using a scraper blade. It did guzzle gas, and would boil the gas in the tank, until we installed a shield.
