you need to have the sw grounded thru the steering post and make sure the resistor on the sw is gooe is the rest of the wires good if the gen is charging then the sw on hi should work if the rest of the system is good are the brushes set right 3.2 bars between the brushes or more the third brush is adjustable for this to charge at a higher rate when the sw is on hi-charge
